I’m thrilled to share this recording made with the wonderful International Contemporary Ensemble from our April concert, which featured my piece Mauvaise foi (2022) for soprano, ensemble, electronics, and reactive lighting. Alice Teyssier’s voice is incredible, as was the support from this great ensemble and our conductor, Nicholas DeMaison, as well as their wonderful staff and production team.

Mauvaise foi was a chance to revisit some texts developed by the poet Katia Bouchoueva, whose work has been a great influence on my music for voice over these last few years. I’d also like to thank my dear friend and colleague Viola Yip, who encouraged and inspired me to take some steps with DMX reactive lighting in this piece. I hope you’ll enjoy it! —
