We had the wonderful, enthusiastic, and über-talented pianist / video artist Michiko Saiki in town today to begin work on a collaborative multimedia opera. Here Michiko is filming soprano Martha Eason, an equally enthusiastic and invaluable collaborator, for use in an upcoming aria. Martha will play a sort of schizophrenic mother. The tentative title will be Brother, and the libretto is being developed by yet another invaluable collaborator and fellow composer Patricia Wallinga.
